Extension Cruise Riung (Flores) – Komodo
For travelers who make a circuit on the island of Flores we offer you the possibility of embarking on our boat in the charming village of Riung by choosing this extension, a perfect combination with a cruise to Komodo.
The road which connects Riung to Labuan Bajo is long, winding and poor in center of interests, this is why we suggest you to visit the archipelago of the 17 islands opposite Riung, to sail along the coasts of Flores while enjoying a magnificent sunset, and swimming in an atypical site, the caves of Goa Rangko ..
The rest of the program can be combined with a 3 to 5 days cruise in the Komodo National Park.
NB: Our routes are given for information only and can be modified by our team according to currents, tides, weather conditions, and if possible according to the preferences of our passengers.
Day 1 : Riung - The 17 islands
In the morning our French-speaking guide welcomes you on the pontoon in the village of Riung and you join the boat together.
Presentation of the crew and the boat during a short briefing on safety and life on board, then we weigh anchor towards the archipelago of 17 islands located not far from the village.
This little paradise is the perfect place to relax and swim after your stay on the island of Flores.
We will spend a few hours on a superb white sand beach to enjoy the exceptional setting, before returning to the boat for lunch.
The second part of the day is an invitation to contemplation from the boat since we are going to sail along the coasts of Flores until night.
You will enjoy a magnificent sunset alone in the world over the ocean, and it is not uncommon to observe dolphins, pilot whales (pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins) and sometimes we have been lucky to meet humpback whales and blue whales!
We arrive around midnight in a small bay where we will spend the night.
Day 2 : Goa Rangko caves and the lost islet
After a good night sleep you wake up in an idyllic setting facing the island of Flores and have a good breakfast.
The visit of the day is quite surprising, in fact as soon as the tide allows it, we will use our small boat to land on a beach from where a small path starts.
After a few tens of meters we reach the entrance to a cave which we enter using a small bamboo ladder and there the spectacle is just incredible.
A natural seawater pool which is located below the cave invites us to swim and the walls are covered with stalactites and stalagmites to the delight of the eyes!
Following this extraordinary swimming we find the boat and, depending on the time, we head to a splendid island, Robinson Crusoe atmosphere assured, for another swimming session … or we sail directly to the island of giants bats ..
We are now at the gates of Komodo National Park and the following days unfold according to the program you have chosen for this superb Riung – Komodo journey.
